NVIDIA Iray render of custom sculpted character Sakirah in a variety of poses. The images were a test of lighting setups and how they react to her skin (and clothes). I used this project to familiarize myself with the complex controls that drive subsurface scattering (SSS) in flesh and clothing while practicing with dynamic cloth simulations. The final output is a collection of desktop wallpapers.

The image was a commission that utilized a silky angel dress by 3D Universe with dynamic simulation that would allow for a sitting pose. While severely revealing, a fully clothed version is in the works, albeit with a new set of clipping challenges to work through and a limited library of options.
Lighting is minimal with a few colored box lights above and a bright moon to fill. Aside from the reflective floor, the environment is in space orbiting the dark side of the Earth which is to her back. A curtain of fog helps to hide away the city lights. The render does not have any transparent pixels making the hair lighting more accurate against the background.
