From The Desk of Kevin Massey: Allied Enemies Illustrations
I present to you a series of paintings I did for one week. I spent between 3-6 hours on each painting, posting one a day before midnight. The purpose of this week project was to force me to work with directly related images that would tell a story as I posted them. That meant that I had to create them in a proper order and could not get to a particular painting I was excited for until I had finished the previous paintings.
These images are tied together by Janey Warren, the Sunshine of the people.
Earth United President Tarquin arrives for Janey Warren's public execution in a dystopian sci-fi Earth. Tarquin has several augments that aid him as a president. These augments give him a more menacing look.
I mostly based the character from Moff Tarkin, the president from Eagle Eye, and a bit of Bill Nightly but I think he turned out looking alot like G-Man from Half-Life. haha
President Tarquin Arrives
Tarquin: "Janey Warren has been my greatest inspiration. When something needs to be done, you do it. When it's a struggle, you never let go."
Jarvis: "I do not advise a public execution. We don't need a second uprising in her name."
Tarquin: "She began ten years of chaos in the eyes of the world. To die among just an audience, I'd have it no other way."
Please Don't Take My Sunshine Away
Tarquin: "They cheer her name, follow her lead. They would all die for her at the drop of a hat, or so they say. If all of this is true, and Miss Warren really is the people's hero, then what power do I have as the President of Earth United? What power do I have over my own people? When the masses chase after Janey Warren, a terrorist and a threat to the foundation of this Great Nation, and trample government like a heard of dumb sheep, what authority do I have in my own office!? It is time I put this girl to rest so that the sheep can again hear my voice in the storm."
Time's Run Out, Miss Warren
Tarquin: "I flew in to see your face with my own eyes, and my, you radiate with the light of this nation, a little ray of hope. It's contagious, see, everyone here is reflecting back at you. Truly you are an inspiration to my presidency and I have you to thank for putting me into office, but I never asked for this struggle for power. You scare me, Sunshine. You leave me with no choice but to snuff your little light out. People will clamor for reform if I don't act now. So time's run out, Miss Warren."
Janey: "MY LIGHT WILL NEVER STOP SHINING! I'LL NEVER LET GO!"
Tarquin: "We'll let the fire decide that. My prayers are with you..."
Rays Of Warren Unleashed
Jarvis: "I told him this would happen..."
There are plenty more I plan to do when I find time again. There are at least three more images that belong. Here is a concept of one of those three.
Well I hope you like what I have so far. I think this was a relatively successful skill test. President Tarquin Arrives and Time's Run Out, Miss Warren are my favorites.
